Doctors Day

Doctors on the Earth are like God in the heaven

A day to recognize the contribution of Doctors in our lives.

National doctors day is celebrated every year all across the India on 1stof July to honor the most famous and legendary physician as well as 2ndChief Minister of West Bengal, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy (BC Roy).

Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy was born on July 1, 1882 and died on the same date in 1962, aged 80 years.

Dr. Roy was honored with the country’s highest civilian award, Bharat Ratna on February 4, 1961. He is remembered till date for actively involving himself in starting many institutions, hospitals and was fully dedicated to the upliftment of Indian society. The red carnation was chosen as the official symbol of Doctors Day because the color of this flower is in spirit of characters of medical profession. It represents adoration, charity, sacrifice, bravery and audacity.

This day is celebrated to show doctors how valuable they and their treatment is.

Without doctors life would have been a suffering. Doctors have made the life easier and reduced pain. Every person becomes a patient at some point of time, and doctors are the cure of all problems. Doctors have done a great progress in Medical profession. They work selflessly to heal lives of people.

“When there are tears, you are a shoulder.
When there is pain, you are a medicine.
When there is a tragedy, you are a hope”
